My friend Lee has just launched a fundraising campaign on indieGoGo. He is the brain and the brawn behind PadaPath Hemp Yoga Towels, a one-of-a-kind, 100% natural alternative to those synthetic non-slip towels that most people use these days. If you are in the market for a new yoga towel, please consider making a contribution to the PadaPath indiGoGo campaign. For a $58 contribution, you get your very own PadaPath towel as a thank-you! (This is actually less than the price of a brand new PadaPath towel.) There are other support levels, too, ranging from $5-$1200.
The campaign is aimed at a rather ambitious goal, one which I fully endorse: Lee wants to get his business, and himself, out of the basement and into a professional production facility. Right now, Lee makes each PadaPath hemp yoga towel by hand, one at a time. It’s obviously a labor of love, as you can see from his “How I Make a PadaPath” video:
A while back, I wrote a short review of PadaPath Hemp Yoga Towels, which you can read here. In a nutshell, PadaPath Hemp Yoga Towels are great for any yogi who (a) wants to avoid synthetic materials and (b) needs an effective non-slip surface. Like any yoga towel, PadaPath does require a little prepping — i.e., you will probably need to sprinkle a little water on it before practicing. Once you really start sweating, though, the hemp fibers absorb the moisture and acquire a kind of tackiness. Of course, no non-slip towel is 100% sticky, but that’s not the goal anyways. You just want to make sure that you have enough traction to prevent slipping and sliding all over the place. But true stability should come from your core!
The PadaPath indidGoGo campaign ends on December 22nd, 2012, so please check it out and support Lee if you can.
