This article on the recent 6th Annual International Yoga Asana Competition might be of interest to some readers… All I can say in response to this piece is, “What in God’s name is happening to yoga!?”

Well, it’s Bikram, what more do you need to say? The guy who has sex with his students, who sues instructors for copyright infringement, who hosts the “World Championsip of Yoga” like it was the WWF or something. Whatever this is, it’s not yoga…
Honestly, I don’t really have a problem with yoga competitions — they’ve been taking place in India for decades. I don’t think they are any better or worse than the type of ‘spiritual marketing’ of yoga that goes on in many places.
